My name is Jody Lavigne and I have been officiating football since 2008. Throughout my 15 years of experience, I have been blessed to call over 700 games for the Baton Rouge Area Football Officials Association (BRAFOA) under the umbrella of the Louisiana High School Officials Association (LHSOA) which officiates game for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). I have officiated all ages of this great game of football from pee wee through college level scrimmages. I have worked every position on the field as well as have extensive game clock experience.

My passion has always been officiating, but recently I have found a new love for teaching the skills that I have learned over my career. I feel proper training is the backbone to any successful career. In the summer every offseason I help develop new officials in my local association. I help teach them basic mechanics and strategies to use as they start their journey on the gridiron. I hope to use this medium as another avenue to both teach and simplify the rules and mechanics of football officiating. It is also my desire to provide useful information to everyone with an interest in the sport I love.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my wife and three kids. We do homework, play, and all of the things young families do as we grow together.
